Project description
CPAP devices are an effective solution to minimise the occurrence of apnoea during sleep. There are different types of CPAP devices, such as standard devices (CPAP), automated therapy pressure tracking (AutoCPAP) or devices that provide different pressure for inhalation and exhalation (BiLevel). The choice of the right device depends on individual needs. A CPAP device can improve the quality of sleep and reduce the risk of apnoea.
CPAP devices must fulfil two key requirements: On the one hand, they must operate quietly and, on the other, they must supply sufficient air. As they are used during sleep, they must be particularly quiet, ideally not even be noticed or only produce a gentle hiss.
The second challenge is to ensure sufficient air output, which requires precise blower control. The device must react quickly to the patient’s breaths, especially during the transition from inhalation to exhalation and vice versa.
Project task
The Delphinus and Doroado CPAP devices, designed by seleon, set new standards in terms of functionality and comfort. Their patented breathing monitoring algorithm enables highly dynamic pressure regulation, which allows for a rapid response to the inhalation phase and prevents the uncomfortable sensation of shortness of breath.
In addition, the devices guarantee quiet operation and consistently provide the necessary airflow for the user.
