Development and Manufacture of a Custom Power Supply for a Cashless Ticket Vending Machine
Challenge
A suitable power supply with UPS functionality was required for a ticket vending machine that had already been fully conceptualized and designed. The main challenge was the short development time and the specified installation space.
Solution
A project team of experts developed a system consisting of a custom lithium-ion battery pack with an integrated BMS and a custom-designed control board for energy management and communication with the machine.

The new vending machine is designed for mobile use in a wide variety of rail vehicles and buses. It can also be used at train stations and ticket outlets. In its basic version, it enables contactless payment via debit or credit card as well as via cell phone. It not only allows customers to purchase tickets but also offers additional features, such as displaying departure times and providing call center support to assist customers with ticket purchases.
